About me

Marcel Fischer

I am a computer science student from Germany. I have been interested in computers since my childhood. My curiosity has made me exploring the vast realms of programming and computer science. I have kept learning and developing projects which I want to present.

I started with BASIC and its variants. Then I moved to more complex languages including PHP, Java and C++.

Today my language of choice for hobby projects is the D programming language, an attempt to improve and modernise C. Many tools I like to use are based on Python, like Mercurial and Pelican, the generator this website built with.

I am a big fan of Vim. For typing I use the Neo keyboard layout because it is really efficient and well designed. Because of its mode/layer 3 full of common special characters it is particularly well-suited for programming.

In my free time, when not sitting in front of a monitor, I do Karate; I am a black belt.
